First of all, the important stuff!

 

I live in Finchampstead in Berkshire, and am married to my lovely wife Becky. I have 3 grown-up children, 2 dogs, 9 guitars and far too many unfinished songs to even think about.

 

As well as music, in my spare time I love nothing more than walking in the local forest every day with Becky and the dogs, Bentley and Rolo.

 

....and talking of forest, I'm a passionate football fan and a lifelong Season Ticket Holder for the mighty Reds, Nottingham Forest! It's a long trek up to Nottingham every couple of weeks, but it's been more than worth it in recent years!

 

I've had a hugely successful career to date and am looking forward to plenty more to come! My success has centred around trust, reliability, drive, ambition and sheer hard work. I have an engaging personality style, and am actually quite funny (for an accountant......).

 

Having the right chemistry with the people I work with is really important to me - when you get this right, success always follows. I don't take myself too seriously but never underestimate the importance of my work!

Summary

I have had over 20 years as a C-Suite executive with a strong background in the financial leadership of key players in Technology and PE-backed businesses. An internationally focused CFO with an exceptionally broad skill set, including acquisitions and integration, transformation of operational performance and delivery of business-critical projects. I have a track record of success across multiple sectors and different sizes of business.

 

Career highlights and Achievements

 

  • Executive leader on the Boards of fast moving, technology led businesses in the UK and Europe
  • Extensive acquisition and integration experience
    • Headhunted by the founder of a privately owned business to achieve a successful sale to a FTSE 100 acquiror
    • Executive lead on 8 acquisitions ranging from £3m to £300m turnover
  • Led a number of transformational projects of significant scale, both in the UK and in Europe

    • Centralisation of all back-office functions for four countries in the Nordics

    • Successful ERP rollouts including SAP and Microsoft D365

  • Re-shaping of profitability models through operational efficiency initiatives. Two separate projects achieving £3m and £5m sustainable annual cost savings
  • Full outsourcing of logistics facilities to 3PL providers, achieving annual savings of £1m
  • Planning and commissioning of a 350,000 square foot logistics facility
  • Introduced rigorous compliance and governance standards, codes of conduct, management processes and KPI performance Monitoring
  • Designed and implemented robust and effective planning and forecasting processes, and instilled commercial performance management cultures based around these
  • Responsible for cash and funding management whilst experiencing explosive growth from £100m to £1bn revenues over a 10 year period, requiring expert and ruthless working capital management
